THIS WEEK'S TIP
~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are trying to get a great group portrait, take a many
pictures as there are people in the group (or as many as
they will allow!). Even if you only get a few shots off, this
will give you options to choose from. There always seems
to be someone joking around or blinking their eyes. The
problem gets worse when there are multiple photographers
present, such as at a wedding; people don't know where
to look. Unless you are so diplomatic or entertaining you
can pull it off seamlessly, resist the urge to prohibit all other
photography at the event. After all, it is a happy day and you
want to contribute to the bliss - just make more exposures.
CAMERA AND PHOTOGRAPHY Q&A
~~~~~~~~~~~
Best Camera to Buy for Class:
I'm starting a Basic Photog. class in college and am required
to buy a 35mm camera with interchangeable lenses. My major
is in computer image editing, so I need this class for my major.
I will mainly be shooting B/W photos (color later) in many different
scenes. I am looking for an easy to use, well-optioned camera
that can be easily upgraded, and I want to spend around$300-
$350 (new or used). Suggestions?
Printing Images from a Digital Camera:
I have a new Sony Mavica FD91 Digital Camera. Shooting at
both 1024 x 768 & 640 x 480. When I try to print in 4 x 6 size or
smaller the quality goes down to the cellar. Any suggestions?
Filters and Film for the Last Frontier:
I'm going to Alaska via cruise and would like to know about
taking pictures of glaciers and snow because of its brightness.
I have a polarizer and a Cokin lens set-up. I've read about a
warm filter and graduated color filter, too. Like to know if they
would be necessary. Also types of film (slide & print) to use.
