I collect pocket 35s from the 70s and 80s and the Chinon Bellami is a nice surprise. Like the Minox, Olympus XA Voightlander Balda, the lens is a 35 mm with good sharpness and zone focusing, apeture-preferred automation and is quite pocketable behind 2 swing out doors (Coo-coo clock-like). The advance lever is big for this little camera and easily catches on clothing, but opens the lens.
A 25 year old example gave me some nice snaps with surprising sharpness(when set >5.6). The plastic body is solid and well constructed. I find the quality of the lens not as sharp as the Rollei 35S, a notch below the Olympus XA, Rollei 35 Tessar and Minox 35's and equal to or better than the Voightlander, Vivtar, Ricoh FF-1. et al. and FAR better than the very disappointing Cosina CX-2. If you can get one in working condition, get it; load it with 400 color film and take it everywhere! lots of fun!
