Two words. ZONE SYSTEM. As it did in the forties, these two little words impacted my photographic exposure so much, it's like black and white (no pun REALLY INTENDED) from before reading THIS book to after. This book covers exposure and developing of the negative in detail. And this is the critical piece on the Zone System, devised by Adams himself. If you can only afford one of these three books, this is the one to start with.
