It is fairly simple, has the option to use the program mode in which it determines settings, the display clues you in on the possibilty of camera shake, poor lighting, ect. Has been great to learn on since it also allows you to choose all of your own settings, yet tells you if those settings may not be correct or best. Also has great aid for focusing, though other cameras may allow you to have better depth when focusing with landscape photography or horizon setting. Overall a great camera with decent amount of options.

Yashica 35mm SLR manual focus cameras, once 'paired' with similar high-quality Contax SLR models, were re-tooled as a 'budget' line after Kyocera merged with Yashica, and it shows in the 107-108-109 series of cameras. Though possessing a built-in (and slow) winder, these SLRS are much more lightly built and less full-featured than older Yashicas like the FX-103 Program and FR-1, and more complicated than the FX-3, and therefore tend to have more mechanical malfunctions. Very slow flash sync, no DOF preview, slow winder speed. No parts available means a used body probably isn't a good bet.

Too bulky. Changing lenses also bulky. Weight heavy. Takes very good photos with telephoto lense. Not easy to carry around

Well in overall this camera is not so bad. It is old, I admit, but it has its advantages. I learned a lot from it and I think I know a few things about photography because of this camera. But you are not missing anything if you didn't use it ever. That's just my humbble oppinion.
