I purchased the T35 some 1.5 years ago.the disadvantages:
- The slides cann't be positioned horizontaly (that is they are a litle ascew), so you have to correct this with the software.
- The color callibration with the software will only work in manual mode
- The color of the images has an overly red cast
- On the right there may appear a bright line all through the image top to bottom (this is the case with some images not all)
- High contrast slides lose a lot of detail
- images have to be sharpened a little
- callibration beyond the manual software automation is tedeous and doesn't always yield good results.
Having said all that I realise it may sound very disappointing. But bare in mind the following. It has never failed to do its job so far and compared to scanning slides with an A4 scanner it is by far the better. Also almost all the above problems cann be corrected through the software.
The resolution of 1950 dpi I find more than sufficient. If you compare that to todays digital camera standards you have a 3.8 megapixel camera which should do a very good job.
The good:
- compared to A4 scanning it works fast, espacially if you look at the resolution it has to scan.
- it's compact
- The results aren't as good as those of my Olympus C 2100 UZ camera, but it comes close.
If you would ask if I'd by it again i'd say: For that (small) an amount of money
yea. You get enough quality if you cann live with the disadvantages
