NOTE: Agfa has discontinued support of their desktop scanners. As of the time of this writing, Agfa still maintains software libraries for these products for download from their website.

It's hard to assign a numerical rating to this scanner as it's real good at some things and so-so at others. I don't use mine often for 35mm film as I find my Epson 2450 is easier to use with that format, but with medium and large format film, the T1200 shines. For the record, I also use an Epson 3200 at my day gig - I still prefer the T1200 for medium and large format film.

I shoot a lot of 4X5 and 5X7 B&W negative film. If the T1200 hasn't broken my bond with traditional large format post production, it sure has bent it a lot. It's great having the capability to handle film sizes to 8X10 - without having to maintain a huge (read that also as expensive) enlarger. I bought my T1200 used, via that famous on-line auction, for about $100.00 - a LOT less money than an Omega D7 enlarger would have cost! Though the Epson 2450 may have a slightly higher dpi rating, I find I get much better scans from 4X5 film (especially B&W) with the T1200.

It's not all good news though, unlike the software for the Epson scanners, the user interface has a bit of a learning curve for optimum results. All in all, it was a very worthwhile investment.
