Good, simple (completely mechanic) and very reliable camera. Feels good in your hands, not to heavy, not too light, just the right weight I would say. The light meter si somehow good enought (better than nothing) even is based on selenium. It need no batteries of any kind. The only limitation is the shutter, mainly the speeds. There are only 5 steps (from 1/30 to 1/500) plus Bulb. I would add that the kit's lens (Helios 44-2) is not the best but it does the job.

This is my favorite 35-mm russian made film camera. It is very versatile and have solid body. This camera's manufacture date is 1980 and it still works smoothly. It comes with very sharp 55mm lens.

Really good camera for the money. My first SLR and still used as well. Couldn't be any more simple, very reliable and best of all, will never run out of batteries!

Pros:Sturdy, all manual camera for total control. Fine f2 55mm lens with good contrat. Long life light meter. Preview option. Depth of Focus scale. Cons: Heavy. Metal sprockets might cut the film's perforations at the end of the roll. Always remember to stop down the aperture before shooting.

The Zenit 420DX can only be described as a budget camera. It is extremely cheap and can take good pictures, but for versatility and quality, get a better camera.

So far, so good. It's clear prints are satisfactory. I’m not too fond of the manual, which can be a bit annoying. But it works well. It also takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

I like it!! My father gave it to me when he got a better one to himself. I have learned all about photography with this camera (been shooting with it for 15 years). I don´t like to look at the light meter outside the viewer in the top of the camera, but it works... Anyway, it's a 30 year old camera that still works fine and it's very robust.
