The Luna-Pro S Light Meter

This meter is the choice of professional photographers and discerning amateurs, all over the word. Experience proven, it provides accurate reflected or incident light readings in all kinds of light, from a flickering candle to a bright summer sun. It can be relied upon to provide correct exposures in any situation. More than just a superb handheld meter, the Luna-Pro S has a wide range of optional accessories which further increase its versatility.

The Luna-Pro S can be adapted to calculate correct exposure for photomicrography with the optional Microscope Attachment. A Variable Angle attachment turns it into a dual angle "spot meter". It can be used to take through-the-lens readings from a large format camera's ground glass with the Flexible Fiber Optics Probe Attachment, or you can use it for copy work with the Copy Attachment. And its also handy in the darkroom; the Enlarging Attachment helps find the right paper grade for black and white prints.

Proven accuracy. Proven reliability. Proven versatility. That's why pros have chosen the Luna-Pro S since its introduction in 1963.

I bought mine in NYC in 1990. It's delivered consistent results ever since. The great thing about it is that it's metered for the Zone system, which most Luna Pro's aren't, so if you're getting one check that you can read the Zone markings(I-IX)at the bottom of the dial whether on eBay or otherwise. The Luna Pro S and the slightly older Pro SBC are the only ones to do it. I only mention this because after 20 years farting around I'm finally in the process of adopting the Zone system as the inevitable next serious step and the markings on it are dead handy.
The other thing is that I left it down for about 5 years and upon picking it up again noticed there was something wrong with the light measurement dial. My camera repairman told me that if I'd left it much longer the simple problem it turned out to fix would have written off the meter permanently. Apart from that one incident, no problems. So, keep it clear, keep it safe.
