Always wanted an Olympus (prefer the OM-1), with two zoom lens, i can attack most shots. Mostly used with available light. Now more than ten years old....

I have moved away from all other cameras, digital and otherwise. I shoot almost exclusively in the manual mode, so I can't comment on the auto one. I am pleased with all aspects of this camera.

So compact, rugged, and very intuitive. May be a bit small for large hands. I loved it, though.

Unlike the OM-2n which was an incremental evolution of the original OM-2, the workhorse OM-2S is a TTL/OTF metered departure that makes it more akin to the OM-4 and OM-4T in features and in operation than to the OM-2n. The hot shoe is now permanently mounted on the prism, it has a "T" series flash cord socket on the front of the body for remote TTL/OTF flash control, the PC socket has been moved to a lower corner of the lens mount, and the viewfinder LCD display is backlit by ambient light with a viewfinder illuminator for working in very low light. Unlike the OM-4(T), it doesn't have multi-spot metering or ability to shift exposure for highlight or shadow. Instead, the "manual" mode uses spot metering only. "Auto" is the typical aperture priority AE mode. The OM-2S was also the *only* "single digit" professional grade OM body to also have a basic "program" exposure mode. Those that own or have used an OM-4(T) will find practical use of the OM-2S, especially in AE mode, to be very nearly identical and switching between the two during a shoot to be very nearly seamless. I use one as a primary backup to an OM-4.
