Automanual gives big benefit of focusing relief.
we dont need to adjust every settings all the time.
but we cant use all the frames in it since after 36 auto forwards it auto matically rewinds the roll.

This rating is based mainly on the fact that my Nikon is first 'real' camera I have ever used. Before this I was using disposable and cheap cameras that I got at Wal-Mart. I got this camera because it has enough leeway to grow with me as I learn more and more yet didn't need a degree in Quatum Theory to operate right out of the box.

Had F/N80 for nearly two years the Battery pack is poor of plastic (china) but it 'does the job'. F/N80 well made of "high-Quality" polycarbonate etc. metal+titanium combined. other cameras good =Elan 7e,& Maggnum 7.'

had for two years,before=F/N65. NOTHING WRONG with this cam' 'cept could have 'infra-red'. but not really necessary.have a Digital as well, but hate keep looking thru'rear 'window'. & bad in certain light. easier to buy ISOs'with right Nos'. would not change for a non/Pro Digital. nicie to hold, rubbery & good durability.

A great film-SLR for the beginning to the advanced photographer. It´s a good little camera if you dont want a heavy camera or as a backup camera or if you need a small camera for travel. But it do get better balanced if you ad the battery pack (MB16).
A few things I need in this camera is, higher flash sync, greater speed (more fps), and a vertical shutter release on the MB16.

I love my F80. It's got everything I need built in minus the weight. It has provisions for a battery grip which fits snugly and what else can I say? It's great! I surely learned a lot from this camera as I've shot almost everything with it.

My first SLR camera was a Nikon F50-D, here the D does not stand for Digital, but for the Date imprinting facility. It served me quite well, until I felt that it was a bit outdated as well as not up to the modern class. Also, importantly I was fed up with writing down the shot details on as well as carrying a notepad, book or a sheet of paper everywhere. It not only hampered my photo-taking ability, but also it played on my nerves and I used to lose many shots simply because I was too concentrated on writing down the details, rather than being focused on taking pics, henceforth I decided to opt for the Nikon F80-S which imprints the data on the frame of the negative. It was expensive for me, but at least now I concentrate on what I do best i.e. taking good pics and do not feel like a fool writing down stuff constantly and missing all those shots when it matters the most. There is nothing much I can say about the camera simply because Nikon has not put a foot wrong on this F80-S. I have not flown the fighter plane F18, but I feel like I am at the controls of one. It took some time i.e. a couple of rolls to get used to the camera, but now I am the master and commander and I am doing what I love to do the most i.e. effortlessly taking excellent pics and a zillion thanks to Nikon. Now I am breaking my head on buying a digital and have only a few options because of my financial situation, but I am very loyal person and I shall show my loyalty to Nikon. Maybe with my budget I might not get all that is on offer, but I trust Nikon and I feel complete with a Nikon in my hands, actually “Nikon completes me.” I haven’t made up my mind yet as to which Nikon digital to buy, but I am not a rich man to buy cheap things. With what ever money I have, I will invest in the best and Nikon is the best for me.

The Nikon F5's in my arsenal have served me well for years. The choice of metering modes, 8FPS, rapid rewind, ability to customize the camera to fit one's needs make it the perfect tool for my wildlife photography. Their ability to take a lot of punishment and keep on ticking gives me great conficence in this system. Nikon has been my first choice for several decades.

I think F80 is an 'okay' camera
If I had more money I wouldn't buy it. I lost my F90X two years ago - I loved that camera a lot!!! and never had any complain.
F80 is okay..I enjoy having it in my backpack, it's really light but I don't like the fragility of the case, it's not weather-proof. I have to be extra carefull when I carry it around (outdoor).

The camera is well built, has a composing grid as an option, and has important functions like DOF-preview and spot metering.
Don't loose the manual - the numerous options on the camera has to be decoded through this, sometimes by accident options has been changed - and it is impossible to know what has been changed without the manual.

for the price and features its one of the best buys. I wished it had better weather proofing, cause if u shoot in dusty environment and if u r not carefull lot of dust can enter in the film chamber which scrathes the film.
