I enjoy the overall performance of this old camera. It works well, and takes great pictures. Perfect for the novice or the advance photographer.

This camera was about $100 on ebay. I used it overseas in Nepal. The pictures quality was fantastic! Film developing and digitizing was way too cumbersome.

(This review is for the similar Yashica-Mat TLR) Lots of Yachica TLRs turn up on eBay, and if you're thinking about getting into medium format for cheap, they're the way to go. I've had mine for about 30 years now, and it's seen a lot of use. It's been in the shop only once -- after a sandstorm in Texas. The glass is pretty good -- not in the same league as a 'blad, but between f8 and f22, few 35mm cameras will give you a sharper photo, thanks to the big neg. This camera, although it looks a little daunting, is easy to use, too. The "sportfinder" eye-level (non-optical) viewfinder is great for grabbing candids, just as long as you focus ahead of time. The two little thumbwheels -- one for f-stops, the other for shutter speeds -- make making adjustments a snap. Note: You'll need a flash bracket with just about any TLR.

A nice tough little camera that takes a lot of ruff use.

This one's fun to use (I actually have the 124, not the G). It produces a great negative. The great thing is it gives you a square negative so you don't have to turn the camera during formatting. The bad thing is it gives you a square negative and you have to crop out some of the photo to print it on todays standard paper.
