Best Point & Shoot I have ever used. To access the various "modes" you must use one button to cycle through i.e. flash auto, flash on, flash off, slow sync flash, EV +1.....this can slow you down a bit if you are needing to react to changing situations quickly.

The Z2X is a dissapointment - the auto focus needs much light. Was NOT what I expected from Leica quality...

The 37 - 70 mm lens gives pictures with excellent sharpness and contrast, which excels all other P&S I know, and equals many SLR lenses. With this P&S camera, one can also use slide film. The Autofocus uses infrared. It is fixed to the center of the picture, but it is possible to store the setting, to recompose and then to shoot; this also holds for exposure. All of the features (including selftimer) which can be set by a pushbutton are useful (esp. a +1.5 EV exposure correction); button is a little bit small. Smallest distance for shots is around 1 m; then special frame marks in the viewfinder have to be used. If the distance is to small, a green lamp blinks for warning, but this is not always reliable. Maximal flash range is app. 4 m for 200 ISO film (depends also on focus length). For shots through window panes, distance can be set at infinity; otherwise AF would focus at pane. A preflash can be activated for red eye reduction, but to my experience, this does not help very much, because the flash is too close to the lens. For me, the zoom range is too short, but there is also a Leica P&S available with a 38 - 105 mm range. The smallest exposure time (1/300 s) is too limited. The only serious argument against this camera is its high price.
