Great for macro, and still photography. Has a very short shutter delay, as well as series features. Not so good for low light/night social snapshots (no loss!).

I am very happy with the Ricoh G3, it has very clear pictures, very good macro & battery life. Easy to use, more functions than I know how to use. The only drawback is the software doesn't always work that well with Windows XP, I sometimes have to turn it on at least a dozen times before it with download.

Great first camera with a number of manual options. Excellent for really close-up macros. Similar in features to Caplio RR30 but adds sound and a few extra features e.g. white balance bracketing and is slightly faster in shutter response. The 'S' model allows printed text to be superimposed over a picture but the text needs to be prepared on a pc and uploaded to the camera. Supplied (in some countries)Lithium battery lasts a long time and AA batteries can also be used.
