The Dimage is a fun small camera, but treat it gently. The battery cover door is plastic and breaks easily, as does the tiny plastic battery hold-down tab. Cost to replace these parts, that are easily accessible: $181. That seems excessive and speaks poorly of Minolta's support.

Cracking little pocket camera. Despite only 3MP, folded light path and small sensor, will easily print to 10X8 or A4.
Main problems - on power down defaults to factory settngs re ISO and flash. Limited close-up.

At the price that I paid, the camera is a great buy. Quality pics can be printed up to 12x18. As for the features on the camera itself, it is excellent, with the feel of a true manual cam.

Great image quality. 3megapixels, but
awkward to hold, buttons and camera features are not intuitive, there seems to be a long delay between snapping the photo and recording the picture (ie: I don't get what I shoot if the subject is moving.

A fun, stealthy little camera. Size of pack of cards, no protruding lenses, 3x optical zoom. Handy to keep with. Taks nice snapshots. Have a Dimage X and liked it so much got an Xi.

What I like about the Minolta Dimage xi camera:
It is small; it actually fits in a shirt pocket. 3Mp is good.
What I dislike:
You don’t get what you see in the viewfinder. I compose in the viewfinder, but end up getting more; therefore, many pixels are wasted.
The controls are a bit cumbersome.

NICE CAMERA FOR HAPPY SNAPPING AND SMALL ENOUGH TO GO WITH ME ALL THE TIME, WOULD LIKE SOMETHING WITH A BIT MORE MANUEL CONTROL.
