the revered phil greenspun of photo.net refers to it as a wedding film, i.e. lower contrast, and low color saturation. it's designed to be that way. if you want punchy colors use slide film, or fuji reala. personally, I like the fuji NPx line. it's good for what it's designed for.

A good fast film if you want very accurate rendering of the colors, especially fleshtones.
Two things I don't like much about it: First, it is not a true 400 speed. In fact you'll get better results if you expose it at 320 ISO. Some people even expose it at 250, in which case you really don't gain much speed over a 160 but you pay the price in term of grain size. Secondly, it's bland. I like good skintones but I also want a bit of punch. This film has no personality.
