I bought Corel Painter X and the 6x8 Wacon Intuous3 tablet the week before taking this class and Jim's lessons and examples got me familiarized with various brushes, tools and applications to get me well on my way to continue using this wonderful software. Jim also explains how some images will work and others wont when using Painter and how an image may work with one style of brushes and not with others and also how to apply specific brushes to acheive desired effects. This was my 8th BP class and this was one of the fastest in terms of knowing nothing to feeling like I now have command to achieve a desired effect for my art. I would have liked this to be an 8 week course just to get a little deeper, but what I have now will lend itself to my own experimentations as I continue to explore Painter. I am also having so much fun with Painter and if Jim offers Painter part II, I will take that one as well. A lot of my friends that know my photography are really impressed with my new painted creations and I even used one image for another BP class and now some of those students have told me they are going to get Painter as well. Now I can combine my love of photography and painting. It is so much fun to "paint" on the computer, with my own photos. Jim Zuckerman is a great teacher, who explains everything in great detail with many examples of different ways to paint. You don't have to be a "Painter" to love this class.
