This was my first course and it stimulated me to take more, not only with Better Photo but also with Jim. I have already signed up for a second course taught by him.The course was well organized, the lessons were easy to understand, the examples were very good, and the critiques of our work were thoughtful and helpful. The only sour note was the message that I got from Better Photo today telling me I was supposed to vote on the work of the students and indicate who I thought deserved to be nos. 1-3 in the class. Since I think this is counter productive and contrary to the spirit of the course and what I thought was Better Photo, I do not intend to participate. All the students in the class are #1 in my book since all made progress, regardless of their level of experience and skill when they started the course. I realize I am probably a voice crying in the wilderness and that my comments will not be seen by others, but I feel quite strongly about this and for that reason am including it this course evaluation--even though this requirement is from Better Photo, not Jim Zuckerman.

The class is well organized and posted in e-mail and website so it is easy to access it. Jim provided different examples of pictures that turned out stunning or went wrong due to composition, equipment, weather lighting. He is also provided non-brutal constructive criticism, offered suggestions to improve it and see how the pictures turned out after his suggestions. Best of all, he made us see the artistic capability of the pictures we took instead of just taking pictures. Corazon

Being that I'm fairly new to photography, that is not just taking snapshots, this course clearly showed me the type of photos that I enjoy taking and tend to be good at. It also had me look at things that I would like to learn more about.

Jim presents a nice variety of assignments and information in this course. His comments are well thought out and very helpful. He even takes time to rework images to make sure the student understands his critique sometimes.
