Very versatile camera, great to carry around when you don't want to carry a whole rig. Large number of shooting modes, and options. Very nice to also go fully manual, and 15sec max exposure is a nice capability. The inability to get a shallow dof without using macro is a challenge. Wouldn't mind a further f-stop (max is f8.0). Photos get a little noisy in low light above ISO 200, but most P&S cameras do as well. A nice bonus is the ability to get a cheap ($20) adapter to use 52mm filters.

For a novice like myself, this camera is easy to use and gets great photos, almost no matter what

Very good as point-and -shoots go. It has everything except shooting RAW: histogram, manual white balance, 4.0 megapixels, macro button. You can look at your shots and zoom in on them, or look at a composite of all your shots. The 2 things I dislike about it are that it is virtually impossible to get a shallow depth of field, even though the lowest f-stop is 2, and I have had a huge problem with camera shake, and have had to, not only use a tripod, but also use the 10-second timer.

I love that it has a large LCD but still has a viewfinder. It is a very nice, inexpensive 6MP camera with all manual functions. It is a very nice size for carrying around. We have a Canon EOS Rebel XT that is nice but not as convenient for having with me all the time.
