With the bad comments regarding this camera I have 2 things to say:
1. MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE THE FIRMWARE when you get your camera!!
2. USE ONLY LITHIUM BATTERYS!!I have used this camera now for about 8 months and I must say that I have been very impressed with the image quality.
I shoot panoramics and they come out stunning at 20" x 84"
The Hot Shoe is one of the best features for a small "point and shoot" camera.
The battery issue is easely taken care of by shooting with lithium batterys. Don't skimp when it comes to power for the camera! Ni-Cads work barely and Alkalines are a joke. USE LITHIUM BATTERYS, I get somewhere around 500 shots with lithium and about 30 with alkalines and around 80 with Ni-Cads. I can only say that I LOVE SP-350 so get the camera and do what I tell you above and you WILL love it too!

I would urge anyone considering buying this camera to reconsider.
Granted mine could just be a lemon but Olympus does not stand behind their product. The LCD monitor went out. They claim the monitor is not covered under warranty.
To make a long story short they are fixing but at a cost of $73.85 negotiated down from $128.00.
The pictures it takes are only so-so and it will only shoot around 20 shots before the batteries go out.
To say I am dissapointed in Olympus would be an understatement!

Very functional camera, easy to use and has multiple excellent features. Shoots in raw and jpeg format.

Very good in operation ,but weight is very less , tripod is needed or chance of shake high. Very fast , Lot of options, good video and sound.This have big 2.5 inch LCD screen , fixed one but the power consumption high . Better if more heavy and with rotatable LCD monitor. Images are very good . In sport mode I have taken pictures from a 70km/hr vehicle without shake/shadow

Excellent little point & shoot that is small enough to carry around in a purse. Nice range of features, 8mp for terrific resolution images and really nice handling of different lighting situations. Actually has a hot shoe for an external flash. Big 2.5" LCD viewing screen and easy access to controls.

Disavantages: you can not cancel the recording of the photo that you have just taken. You must wait until recording ends then you can erase it from the card. The optical zoom is only 3x.
Advantages: A lots of cool options in the menu. Fast startup. Do not need a lense cap to protect the lense. 8 megapixels at a good price. Only needs two batteries to operate.

Juat recieved this camera as a gift so I haven't had much time to get in depth usage. Overall it's a great camera. 8 Megapixel, 3X optical zoom. It's got great editing effects such as adding text and/or frames to your pictures. Built in red eye removal, and much more!

Almost identical to SP-350 but with hotshoe and 8 MP vice 7.1.
Nice camera. Compact, yet full manual control. Only drawbacks to date are poor battery life and lack of remote or 2 second timer (has 12 sec timer).
