This is a great camera when first beginning to explore photography beyond using a point and shoot. It produces beautiful shots and gives you some room to experiment with f-stops. However, one never has the option to prioritize shutter speed over aperture, therefore it can be limiting when wanting to experiment further.

Great optics! I have taken dozens of beautiful shots in the 4 years that I have owned this camera. The best thing about it is that it is a great step-up from a 35mm point and shoot. I work in a professional photo lab and know customers that own this camera. I haven't heard any complaints yet.

I think it's a great camera for beginners. It lets you override most options. However, the lens motor is very testy and it does not center pictures well.
