What quick advice do you have for someone who simply wants to improve their photography skills? Study photographs, look at as many picture books and magazines as you can. Analyze the images carefully and learn why some are more successful than others.

Lewis Kemper:

How you make a name for yourself varies from field to field. To be successful in wedding you only need to be the best in your local area, to be a successful nature photographer your competition becomes more national or even global!

But take steps, don't expect to make big leaps, work one step at a time and build. Use one success to create new opportunities. Meet as many people in the field you are pursuing, those connections will help you become more successful.
