The name of this galley could easily be called My DayLee Photos. DayLee is a nickname that is also an interesting play on words for 'daily'.
I love to go on daily walks around my neighborhood which includes Lake Guntersville and the surrounding area. I take photos daily and love to try an capture something new each day. Subjects are easy to discover around the lake. Even the smaller section literally across the street from my home provides an ever-changing source of inspiration. I especially love anything to do with nature, landscapes, and wildlife. I also love old barns, old churches, and any buildings with unusual character appeal! Sometimes I take a shot with a particular outcome hoped for while other times I simply point, click and hope for a surprise discovery once the photograph is downloaded to my computer where I can actually see it in detail.

I am a beginner photographer and am interested in learning how to improve the photographs I take on a daily basis. Hence my nickname DAYLEE which is a play on words but also combines a childhood nickname with my daughter's middle name.
I have only been taking photos a short time but admit that it is quickly becoming an obsession. I blame the beautiful area in and around Lake Guntersville, Alabama for my sudden interest in capturing snapshots of just a bit of the beauty to be found in my new community.It is amazing the way photography has opened my eyes to the amazing details of life that I had been letting slip by me for far to long.
I am grandmother to six darling grandchildren very nicely divided between three boys and three girls. I have a spoiled long-haired doxie who is named appropriately Lady. I moved from Georgia here to Lake Guntersville, Alabama with my daughter, son in law, one 16 year old grandson and a 7 year old granddaughter last August. My son, daughter in law and 4 more grandchildren lie in Missouri and come to visit once a year. they will be so excited to explore the area around Lake Guntersville this summer as I have been sending them a constant stream of photos!
I am looking forward to getting to know others here. All tips, suggestions and helpful critiques will be greatly appreciated.
