Bio

I have always enjoyed taking pictures but really never took the time to learn photography until somewhat recently. I am an ametuer fine artist specializing in realistic colored pencil, graphite and oil. Art taught me to see and I believe that will help me out a lot with photography. I have also dabbled in acting, barrel racing and rodeo queening.

Once I get a bug in me I want everything. I want to be a great and not just a good photographer. I want all the top of the line equipment and I am consumed with studying and taking pictures. I never leave home without my camera which drives my husband nuts. Especially on the golf course but you never know when there will be a Bobcat, Cougar, baby Hawks, deer, javelina, etc.

I have two cats. I have always been an animal person but mostly dogs and horses so when my husband suggested having a couple of cats I started searching for the exotics. I have a female Bengal and a female Stone Cougar. The Stone Cougar is a F1 which is the first generation out of the wild. She is 50% Jungle Cat, part Asian Leopard and part domestic. She is my pride and joy even though she is quite tempermental. I can take pictures of them all day long which I find that it can be very challenging to get a really great shot.

Luckily in late 2005 before vacationing in Costa Rica my Dad sent me a check to go towards the Canon Rebel XT which he had just bought and loved. I then purchased the Rebel and the L series 70-200mm lens. That started the whirlwind of learning the equipment and buying more good stuff. My most recent purchase was the Canon 100mm Macro which I am loving evn thought I prefer to handhold my shots.
