I love to photograph children. My ideal portrait is catching a child being themselves, maybe when they don't know you're looking. I like to use some vintage accesories when the opportunity presents itself. I prefer the high resolution digital cameras with children because I always know that I made the "catch". No surprises at the end, wrong exposures or ruined film.
I prefer to use as much available light as possible, and very minimal and simple backdrops. When I do use studio lights, I work very hard for them to look natural and not washed out. I think, in portraiture, that simple photos are best, as they draw the attention to the person and their personality.
