Hi, I'm Gary. I spent 20 years in the U. S. Navy and now work for a major consulting firm. My first SLR was a Canon AE-1 and I loved it, I took a lot of great images with it - until it was stolen couple of years later. I followed it up with a Canon AE-1 Program, another good body. Since then, I have switched to being a Nikon shooter. I only in the last few years became more serious about the hobby. My equipment consists of a Nikon D70, a Nikon N80, a Yashica Twin lens reflex body with various lenses and filters, an 18-70 Nikkor kit lens, a Tamron 17-35 f2.8 lens, a Nikkor 50mm f1.4 lens, a Nikkor 80-200 f2.8, and the Nikkor 70-300 f5.6 lens. I've added a tank of a film body, a Nikon F4s to me "arsenal" for long hikes and situations and places where the equipment may take a real pounding. My goals are to just get better at photography overall and possibly learn to make a little money on the side in time. No pets, just the hummingbirds that we love to feed and watch in the backyard.
