Rather than setting up in a studio, I continually search for that detail that will tell a unique story. Shooting exclusively for book covers has trained my eye to look for images that immediately convey a concept, feeling or story. I teach those same ideas at the Bryan Peterson School of Photography, a leading online photography education source.
I shoot in RAW with a Canon 7D and use the 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens, the EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens, the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens, the 70-200mm f/4L IS USM AF lens and the EF 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. Most of my photographs are created using natural light.
I live in Chicago with my wonderfully supportive husband, my beautiful daughter and very needy mini poodle. When not shooting photography, I enjoy reading, running and experiencing all that Chicago has to offer.
