Sycamore Tree and Blue Sky
Marsha S. Smith 2/25/2005 7:54:05 PM
I love the perspective on this. It makes that tree look miles high. The bark is beautiful and the contrast against the sky is great. #219037Kelly Heaton 2/25/2005 7:59:30 PM

I really like this shot. I have a similar one of a very different species (Ponderosa pine) from the Deschutes River in Oregon. Two guys and I take a whitewater rafting/fishing trip down the river every year and we've camped under that tree many times. It's high desert country and the sky was brilliant blue. It's buried as a slide in a box somewhere, and seeing this shot will motivate me to dig it out and scan it so I have a digital file.

CONGRATULATIONS, Kelly, and best of luck to you in the next judging round! Beautifully done!!"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field; it is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches." (Matthew 13:31-32)
