Banking Turn

Uploaded: March 09, 2010

Description

Banking turns at the time of take-off. No wonder I have trouble capturing these little birds as they leave the feeder.

Edited and cropped in Camera Raw
f9.0 @ 1/1600 Sec. ISO 1000 partial metering. Manual focus.
Focal length and lens: 300.0 mm f4L
On tripod
Used pen tool to create a precise mask at 400% with which to work the Alien Skin Bokeh plug-in, and receive better DOF than using the lens wide opened.

Thank you, Joy, and Nikki for your comments.

Do either of you know a good title to give to this image? I don't know the terms given to airplanes after they take off. Are they "banking" a turn? #8445607
