Why the Eagle tree looks like it does. If I were the Eagles I`d run these critters off as they`re just eating it up one hole at a time.Captured at F/8,1/1250,Iso800,400mm.

Hal, WOW! This is beautiful, you captured both the male and female on the tree at the same time!! Great Capture, this is awesome, a favorite for sure! #8443200Anita Hogue March 09, 2010
Looks like we're both into the woodpeckers today. This is a really cool capture! I know what you mean though. We had a dead palm tree in Florida that the woodpeckers took almost the entire inside for their home. They are fun to capture but can sure make a mess. #8443245Christine Lobsinger March 09, 2010
I've never had the chance to see two woodpeckers working away at the same time before, this is KEWL Hal.. it is amazing what they can do to a tree...Wonderfully caught!

Cool portrait of these two in opposite sides of the tree....I do remember the sound they were making at the time I was there...I hope the tree lasts for a long time. #8443700Claudia Kuhn March 09, 2010
They're beautiful to capture, especially 2 in one frame, but too bad they're making your eagle tree unsafe. You'd think that hammering would drive the eagles crazy. Cool capture Hal. #8443806Michelle Alton March 09, 2010
But as a human, I'd be thrilled to shoot the woodpeckers! This is a superb catch, Hal. #8443835Kitty R. Rodehorst-Hanna March 09, 2010
