Description

Nest of the Red-capped Plover is a depression in sand usually lined with shell,small stones or plant leaves often sheltered by a plant.
You can see the speckled pale green/grey eggs under the foliage which is about three inches in height.

What a fantastic capture of this gorgeous bird and its 'nest', Brett!! :o) Plovers do pick some amazing, and even stupid (to us!) locations for their 'nests'!! A few years ago Phil was checking out something on the roof of my Dad's house, when he was very noisily warned off by a Spur-winged Plover who had made its 'nest' straight onto the metal roofing!! ;o) Go figure!! ;o/ #8199711
