Silhouette of the Hunter

Uploaded: November 17, 2009

Description

I found the hawk motionless, silhouetted against the gray sky and sea, hoping for morsel or perhaps a meal to stray from it's hiding place. I took the shot and tried to move closer and into a better position but he'd have none of it. So the silhouette of what I believe is a Red Tailed Hawk, perched in a dead pine tree, is what I got at the beach on Sunday. I haven't been doing too good in the wildlife department lately.

Ooo! He looks like a BIG ONE Joseph! We had a pair of falcons nesting in one of our trees last year and Man was it noisy until the parents and baby took off in like August! They also were swooping down and cutting the heads right off of the smaller birds. It as bad!

Great job here. They can be so aggressive!
