Danielle, I thought I would show you a photo from my first wedding, just a few months ago. I love the way that the veil adds intamacy but I wish it was longer. I love the expression on their faces but I should have taken more care with her hands. His should be hidden and hers would have been nicer holding on to his lapel. Also I should have had him take off his watch. Its those details that make a good photo into a great photo. But hey, that is how we learn! #26723

Margaret,

I actually like her hands like that she seems so excited to be his bride...i agree about the watch! and I do love the veil over both of them very sweet intimate idea!!I cant wait for my next shoot...WHen you say his hands shouldve been hidden where would you put them? So I know what to tell my subjects to do with them!VEry nice!!

Either she is excited to be his wife or already pounding on him! LOL I think his hands should have been more around her waist and hiding on the other side. He would be holding her closer that way. Otherwish it could even have been behind his back...but the feeling may have been ruined. The least I should have done is made sure his fingers were together and maybe moved his hands so the angle was different to make them look smaller...not so clumsy. #68655

Ahhh yes I see what you mean now if they were farther to her back the would look sleeker...I see now... #68658

Here is a sample of what I was talking about turing black and white from color with and without curve adjustments! #68663

Yep, and its fun to bring back the color in some parts, add sepia or a soft color as well. Gotta love that Photo Shop! #68680

I like the couple.

Is there a background set up or is it out in the snow? #68750

Kelly, I set up a backdrop that I painted my self. I had a white silk but since she was wearing ivory I wanted something that would compliment her dress and not be distracting. It is ivory, light beige, light gold and a touch of a very soft mauve all in an opalasant (sp?) paint. The wedding was 7 hours a way, and my daughter was the flower girl so I was traveling with the entire family. I had to be VERY prepared. Sure enough the church was as plain as can be and the outside was covered in mud. I took the group shots (she had 36 groupings she wanted! I did them in one hour!)at the alter and then I set up my strobe lights and background in a little room where I could close the doors for privacy. I then took pictures of the bride and groom, their parents, grandparents anyone else who was special to them. I did that for about another hour and that is where we got all the photos I really loved. People were very relaxed because no one was around staring at them. #68769
