Mark. This is decidedly a "wish it was mine " image. Superb!
Being an older guy who lived through WW2 and always interested in military aircraft I would appreciate you telling us what this 1940's fighter is. As most US fighters (P51 Mustang and P38 Lightning excepted) had radial engines like the one you show us here I can't decide what it is as I would need to see the wings and tail fin to make an educated guess.
