I'll bet he's sitting comfortable in his tree having a ball for getting you out into the cold to catch him. LOL! This is a wonderful shot, S S Laura. Excellently composed image with great light and textures. #7350874

Brrrr. Looks very cold. We hardly ever get snow here, once a year if we are lucky so it's a real novelty for us. I don't know how the wildlife copes with it but it's nice they have people like you that help out. Cool capture Laura and the little pawprints tell their own story. #7350893

Good Morning, Folks!

Thanks for each comment above. I enjoyed them very much.

Well believe it or not, this wasn't a Black and White image! It's just that way outside right now! Even the sky is WHITE! HA!

The little critters are so cute because they dig all around in every spot that I put peanuts or bird seed or other types of food out. (Peanut butter logs, bread, etc)...

In the winter we get : Black Squirrels, Grey Squirrels, Back yard and mountain sparrows, blue jays, magpies, wee little mice, <---- That make darling little footprints from their mouse holes to the food pile!!! Pigeons, huge jack rabbits, the occasional cougar or deer...

Anyway thanks lots to each of you and I will soon be by your galleries to see what you have been working on. :)

STAY WARM AND SAFE, please. :)

Amazing, we had 5 feet of standing snow in Jan & Feb, now it has finally all melted. I would rather live in my freezer than to go through one more winter here in Fort Drum, NY.
Nice POV with this capture, Laura. #7352710

Hi Ellen! Hi Gina!

Thanks lots for your great comments. :)

WOW! 5 feet of snow. NO THANKS! I agree. Open the freezer door. I'll bring the hot chocolate you bring the electric blankets!

Maybe it's time to move to Florida??? :) Lots of BP'ers there.

So glad spring is almost here!

Thanks again!

Laura- Fantastic title and capture. I just love watching the squirrels and the things they do. As straight as those tracks are, I would say he never lost sight of that food for one second. Excellent composition with the snow covered trees. Great eye to see this as a photo op.
Fabulous work

Walter, knowing my little furry friend, he was up in that tree watching me. :) Yes. It WAS (IS) COLD! About 32*f tonight however. Not bad!

* * *

Yes Yulianto! You are right! :)

* * *

Hi Donna. What-time? Spring-what? :) Thanks lots for your generous assessments! :)

* * *

Hi Steve! Yep. One set. That is indeed a (Spruce) tree and I agree. He has still right in there VERY CLOSE BY. Well, to them, I am not Lavender Lady or LL or even Limema (<---Is that the lastest?) but when they see me I am just plane old "PEANUT LADY".

My pockets are -filled- (Brimming) with peanuts for them and they get pretty happy to know I have come outside! They wait and they WATCH in the trees to be SURE IT'S ME! It's really cute. They do know my voice now and some run right to me. It's ver sweet.

Note: This little guy is the one that lives in the tree where I have rocks all around that look like letters. These tracks actually start from "his" tree there.

I took other neat shots that morning, too but I sorta liked this one best.

Hi Courtenay! Thanks you so much!!! WOW you have been making the rounds bit time today! Trying to make up for lost time? Great to see you again! We have missed you! YOU WORK TOO HARD!

Again, thank you one and all. All smiles here. :)

This is such a wonderful site, to know squirrels are not going hungry in Laura's area. Well done, and the white is just right in this image... well done Laura. 8o)mumj #7361987

Hi Steve! Hi Mumj!

At my last house the neighbor kids called me "THE BIRD LADY!"

I had about 50-60 sparrows that hung out day and night in our big trees chirping away...

I think I had like 14 homing pigeons (Long story. They weren't mine but got blown of course on a long race and were too young to find their way back to Edmonton! They landed at our FOOD FARM and called it home! HA!)

I could stand on the porch and sing out "CARMELITA" and they would fly home within minutes!

...I also had various other birds like Blue Jays that hung out. One of which would swoop down to grab the peanut from my hand held high... but he ALWAYS chickened out at the last second and never grabbed it as he'd dive and swoop! A thrill none the less!

I actually had moments there where I felt like SNOW WHITE! I was in TUNE with nature there!!! TOTALLY! They trusted me. It as NEAT!

The Squirrels were WAY more friendly at the last house. I miss them STILL!

Anyway, thanks you two!

Thanks Mumj!

Coming from the master of the heart, I am honored. There is something amazing about reaching out to nature and it reaches back with pure sweet trust (after their fear of us is gone). It's indescribable unless we actually experience it. Thank you and thank you for being you! :)

xx Happy Sunday to you!
