Wow Susan, this is one fantastic East Texas image and the dog is the perfect addition to your composition! Love the treatment!I'm doing good. I'm having an exhibit right now at a cafe in Dallas. This is my second visit there...they called me! :-) #7304683

Well if this doesn't scream Texas I don't know what does? Terrific shot Susan! Great timing on the dogs pose and post processing!! I think you will be disappointed in April for bluebonnets near Llano? I know the guy that runs WildflowerHaven and he is coming to the Brenham area just so he can see some 2009 bluebonnets: http://www.wildflowerhaven.com/default.phpxHere is my suggestion but you need to get here pretty soon becasue some are already going to seed:
We just got home from a trip around Brenham (3/19/09) and things look some what improved--not great but pretty good. My suggested route for the best bluebonnet viewing is US290 out of Hempstead to Chappell Hill then right on FM1155 all the way to Washington on the Brazos. There is just a little construction around Washington but not enough to slow anyone down. Left on TX 105 to scenic TX 390 and then right to Independence. Pop in at Old Baylor but it is plenty dry and pretty sparse--there are more coreopsis than bluebonnets. Take TX 50 back to TX 105 into Brenham. Take TX 36 south to Bellville and bear left on FM 159 back to Hempstead where at Jingles Road the sand bluebonnets have exploded covering the entire field. But FM 1155 is the winner in my book. Nice roadside patches of big healthy bluebonnets and several fields also full and blue especially at Harry Franklin Road and then a couple others as you near Washington. It was very busy today, Thursday, 03/19/09, so this weekend could be very busy? With a little more rain along the way the viewing should be good for another week or two. That route took me six hours for looking, photographing and having a bit of lunch. Another tip gas is cheaper on the south side of Brenham than on the north side. We also saw lots of Indian Paintbrush, yellow Groundsel, pink evening primrose, pink and red phlox, purple vetch, coreopsis and white wind flowers in addition to the bluebonnets. #7314730
