frank w. degenhardt December 30, 2008
Max- One of the most powerful imagaes I have every seen. It speaks of a down trodden woman and the way you posed it is unbeleavable. The raw feel of it with the mood is phenominal. The cigerette and the glass of liquor speak of her feeling as if there is no way out. This should be a grandprize winner as far as I'm concerned and certainly belongs in an art gallery.John Connolly December 30, 2008
A wonderful low key portrait, very tastefully presented Max! Wonderful work! #6958916Manuel Barrera December 30, 2008

Amazing portrait Max, the posing, lighting and mood is all brilliant, well done!! #6965150Aimee C. Eisaman January 01, 2009
A fantastic capture and so well composed! I dream of having people like this to shoot! To capture someone like this is to capture their soul for all to see! It's so personal and powerful! The shadows in this shot are a bit to dark on her face for my liking, but to each their own! I'm going to show this to a friend of mine that is super at PS work and see what he would suggest. You may want to give what he says a try and see what you think! Many of my images have benefited from his advice! :~) #6966046Mitch Spence January 01, 2009
Well, Max, I thought I had a favorite of yours that would never be eclipsed, the little boy at the window, but now I guess I have to choose this one. No, I'll just keep them both as the very best. #6967016Michael Umbreit January 01, 2009

Love this - her expression is so moving! #8122214Laura E. Swan December 10, 2009
I remember this image, Max. I was sure I made a comment before?!What a dramatic capture. She appears to have so much on her mind. Her contemplations are so evident here.
Maybe we have all felt this way before and this is why we all connect so strongly with this image.
So well done, by BOTH of you.
I hope this wins.
