Description

A re-edit of an old favourite pic of my youngest son before he set of to school for a world war 2 theme day.

It was shot in my backyard and used a softbox for the light, and asked him to act as if he lost his mother during a bombing raid in ww2.

Im thinking of putting this up for display at my camera clubs exhibition in Jan next year.
Something different from the norm.
Any feed back on this much appreciated, and a better title to suit would be great, if you can think of something.

Superb Portrait and effects, Gareth. Yes. most definitely you should display it at the clubs exhibition. Your title is good too, but I probably would say it "Agony of THE Loss". Thanks for sharing.

Oh yes Gareth, this image takes me back to the '40s when I was a child in England. Only his shoes tell me that this wasn't shot in about 1942, they are too modern, but this doesn't detract from a brilliant depiction of those years. The boys clothing, his necktie, short pants, sleeveless pullover(as it was called back then)look totally in-period. The name tag suggests he was a evacuee kid just arriving at what was meant to be a safe part of the country remote from the heavily bombed major cities. We had two children and their mom from south London, billited with us for the duration and our town was fortunate to only have three or four bombs dropped on it. This is going into my "favorites". Thanks for sharing this Gareth; it is so impressive and your boy did a marvellous bit of acting. The little teddy bear too is a wonderfully understated indication of his distress.

I would greatly appreciate it if you would tell us which filters or actions you used in post procesing.
