Sheila Humas are a delicacy to Aligators. They crave to eat us. People should realize they cannot be trusted. Especially if you are in a canoe. A gator could easily roll a canoe very easily. Bill #6731502

Jeana if a person is older and like some older people being as wide as they are tall he would not be able to swallow them, but if a person is a lean 5' 10" he would suck you up like soup on a spoon. Thank you for your nice comment. Bill #6741924

Nancyj E. Hovey level-classic January 28, 2009

Hey Bill, loooks like you made it home safely... This is an awesome shot...how far away from home were you? Alligators have their dangerous points, but snakes are everywhere as you know. We live in a development of approx 200 bldgs with swamp on 3 sides, and most of the 4th...so snakes and gaters like to be royalty here, and show up at our doors, and sometimes snakes come in with the owners... not fun. We even have big gators like this one. When we do, they end up having the GatorMan take them out at night to relocate them. Unfortunately, one is not allowed to watch or be close enough to take pictures - it distracts trapping and makes the job much more difficult. SO the trapping is done in the middle of the night, setting traps is in daylight. Just wish we could put something around to get rid of snakes... Can't step out of any doorway, or car, without looking at the ground FIRST.... I love this photo...and it is a great reminder... 8o) #7097394

Bill Knaps January 28, 2009

New areas that have been cleared and built on are prone to have many snakes Nancy as you have learned. In the woods here I would say there is a snake every few feet somewhere. You don't see them every few feet, but they are there. This gator was seen on a New Orleans Swamp tour which was across the river from New Orleans. 6 hours from me Nancy. Bill #7097496
