Description

f6, 1/320th, ISO 800, lens is a home made 2800mm parabolic Schmidt mirror. This is a composite shot, as the "moons" required a 6 second exposure.

Excellent work, Jim! The color of Jupiter and it's moons is great. I remember when I was in the 8th grade, I had a year long project of keeping track of the moons position each night Jupiter was visible.I use a home made refractor I made and if I remember right, it was 600 power. Wish I still had it, but gave it away. Beautiful capture, well done!!....Denny #6526076

Thanks Brenda and Denny, the next step in this "astro" project is to design and build a tracking system so that "the monster" will precisely follow an object in order to do long exposures (1 minute to several hours). It'll be a winter project. #6529112
