Hi, Vasko. I wanted to comment on your "eye," as it were. For an 18-year-old, you have a very mature eye. (I'm thinking about what I was shooting when I was 18--I shudder to think someone might still have copies of my B&W's.) I think you should concentrate on people--all your photos are nice, but I really dig your people shots. You have captured more than just portraits. These have feeling and tell a story. This one above is great. I like the blur--everyone is moving except "Steve." This says a lot about Steve. (Can't he remember what class he's supposed to go to? Ha ha)

I especially like your shot (I can't see it to recall the title right now) of the two young men whose faces are cropped. I like that effect--it adds to the emotion of your story--kind of like radical camerawork in films--used to intentionally disturb the viewer or simply make him sit up and take notice. Your perspective also gives depth to the composition.

Keep shooting. You have a niche here waiting to emerge. (In my not-so-humble opinion, as always.) And keep shooting B&W. It's beautiful.

Piper,

These are probably the warmest words that anybody has every said to me in regard of my photography. Thanks a lot, man! Steve is my "lab rat". I use him a lot to experiment with light and time...

I checked out your shots. It seems to me like you are into nature, but for some reason, most of them (on my computer at least) are not appearing. You should let Jim know. I would like to see more of your work.

Rock on,

Vasko, I'm not really into anything in particular as far as my photos go--except trying to be creative, different, you know? I'm learning and re-learning. I regret that I put my camera away for many years after those first days way back in the 80's. I have only just recently rekindled my passion and have discovered a new love for it in the meantime.
