I love the shot but wish it was all a little closer, for effect, lol. But I have yet to try night shots, and you make it look easy Arman! WTG! #6187806

I love night shots like this with water and reflection. I can't remember the best rule of thumb for the amt of sky for maximum beauty. Does anyone know? Christine??? Sherry??? Aimee??? Pat??? UV???

At any rate this is a beautiful shot and possibly have nailed it perfectly Arman! -Laura #6191144

Yes. There is. I think you did it just right but I cant remember? 1/3 sky 1/3 land and 1/3 water maybe? Humm... #6195886

Laura, thanks. Yes hopefully I did. Because I didnt know. #6199945

Very nice, Arman. You seem to have the proportions right by the RoT. And I would give the sky the 2/3 as you have done. I guess if you had long reflections you could reverse this. #6202450

Arman E. Barbuco July 21, 2008

Conrad, thank you very much for confirming. Atleast now I know there is such a rule. Good thing I did it right. #6204893

Conrad L. Conero July 21, 2008

Arman,
I should haven't have used the acronym. It's the "rule of thirds", an old artistic guide. It suggests that you put your subject on an imaginary tic-tac-toe grid line in your composition (as opposed to dead center) for more tensin/interest. It's just a guide of course, but it has a lot of validity.

Well done Arman! Your evening/night shots are all very good! #6211989

Arman E. Barbuco July 22, 2008

Conrad, that I remember the rule of third a friend used to tell me about that. Because I have no educational training on photography so such that I dnt know.

David, Thank you very much too... #6213214
