Killdeer

This is a momma Killdeer bird who laid her eggs on a grassy area next to my son's play area in his school yard. To protect her, the school officials surrounded her nest and 3 eggs with traffic cones. She has become sort of a school celebrity. I searched this bird up on line and found out that they have a fondness for human modified habitats and its willingness to nest close to people.
