Spring Tide

Uploaded: June 03, 2008

Description

Exposed sea grass and kelp at Lone Ranch Beach on the southern Oregon coast during a -2.2 low tide. The color of the reflective grass in the morning sun through a polarizer was crazy green. A polarizer/small aperture/ND filter combo allowed a shutter speed that allowed some blur in the motion of the waves. Offshore fog created an interesting vignette.

Update: This photo is one selected to run in an article about my photography in the current (August 2008) issue of Outdoor Photography Magazine.

Exif: F Number: 18, Exposure Bias Value: 0.33, ExposureTime: 8/10 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 100, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 17.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 5D
