I've been spotted! Rats!!! I'm mean Deer!

Uploaded: April 13, 2008

Description

I accidentally came up on the deer and shot this photo of them with my Sub-compact camera. When I reached for my D-SLR I spooked them and wasn't able to get a good shot after that. Rats!

I believe these are female elk but either way this is a gorgeous capture and perfect composition with outstanding color and clarity. #5788543

You may be right Dianna. I kinda thought they looked a little different from Deer but I didn't know we had Elk in this area. Thank you for the info and the comments. #5788652

G'day John,

Mate, it may well be a "Sub-compact camera" but it is a top grade photograph in my 'umble opinion.

Not only is the subject and setting very interesting, especially to someone from another part of the world but the composition and balance in the image are extremely good.

It matters not that the deer have their backs to us as the white rumps are a prominent feature of these animals and besides, their faces are turned.

Knowing just how savage the BP algorithms can be to our uploaded .jpg files, the quality of this photograph is quite good and shows just how good the depth of field of the camera is and just how good your focus and steady hand were in making the shot.

Lovely exposure in that wilderness light, a nice contrast and very natural colours make for a good view.

Very good work that man!
