These roses are beautiful Mary - from your garden? I like the composition. There are a couple of things I would try with this. If your camera has aperture and shutter speed control, I would try using a shallower DOF. Also, summer sun can be intense - using a diffuser or waiting for an overcast day will really define the colors and detail in you flower and foliage shots. Keep up the good work!

Cathy, I use a Kodak DC280, and I don't believe I have shutter or speed control . . . ( Being a camparative newbie, I can't be sure. ) However, shooting florals on an overcast day, is news to me -- and I thank you kindly for the tip.
