Maureen, I love how close you were able to get to this little chickadee- the composition is really nice- the lighting, color- everything's so good in this shot! I am taking my first photo course to get out of the point+shoot and it's daunting!! So now I REALLY appreciate this image!! Beautiful job!! Where are these brown backed chickadees? I'm in VT and we have just the black caps. #5358015Susan M. Smith January 18, 2008
Cute capture and title. This is just too cute :) #5358394Maureen M. Bisson January 18, 2008
Thank you Mary, SuSana, Tiia, Dominick, Barbara, Evy, Ellen and Susan! Have to agree 100% about how adorable these little charmers are. Topped only by the fact they are soooooo friendly it is hard to believe they are wild! They feed from my hand now so taking a picture of them up-close is just a matter of having a camera in one hand, Chickadee & nuts in the other hand! Wonderful!!! The Chestnut-backed chickadee is indigenous all up & down the PAcific West Coast of USA & Canada ~ and into some Eastern parts of the Northern USA States where lush forests are available. They reside year-round on our acreage, so we get to admire them 24/7 & get first viewing of their youngsters! More Wonderful!! #5360831Dot K. January 20, 2008
cute capture Maureen! The Chickadees are so funny with the shelled peanuts, I keep a pocket full of those to toss to the squirrels, and once in a while a Chickadee will land on the peanut and try pecking at it a bit before I get a chance to toss it. Love the shot you got here, very sweet! #5369570Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
