East Beach Sunrise

Description

I stayed at a friend's house who lives way closer to the beach than I do, and since I haven't gotten any sunrise shots since I bought my new gear, I decided that THIS would be the morning I stop being a lazy tool and actually get out of bed. The alarm went off at 6:50am, and being a typical college student, my initial reaction was to hit the snooze button, and sleep for 5 more minutes (which we all knows turns to 10 minutes, then 20 minutes, then 30, and before you know it, you're an hour late to class...which has probably already ended by then). But I fought my instinct, and forced myself out of bed. Glad I did. I figured out a lot of things during this shoot. I've been trying to do more with moving water, and so far, I'm not too unhappy with the results. It's cool to me to think that this little spec on the horizon is the source of all of this amazing light.

This is a digital blend of two exposures, one for the sky, and one for the water.

Hey Blake, it looks like the final product was very much worth the effort, lol. I suffer from the same problem with early mornings yet there's no denying the great photos one can take during these early hours of the day.

I really love your photo - you've done and excellent job technically and artistically. Very well done - keep up the great work! #819916

Awww, yes! You've discovered the best time of the day. I too used to have the snooze button syndrome, but now, whenever the opportunity strikes, I'm up well before the sun with cameras in hand. Oh.... did I say Fantastic Shot!!! #7285686
