Description

The fellow on the left is helping this little girl he'd picked out of the audience to hold a stick with a spinning ball on top of it. She was able to hold it all by herself and the wonder and pride in her eyes was something to behold!

My last student today happens to be a teenager who is a whiz at Photo Elements. This is the result of a lesson with him where I made 2 layers of the same image and (of course) did the glowing edges thing with one of them, and honestly, I can't remember what I did with the other! I like the way it turned out. Comments, as always, welcome! #801995

Great shot Ellen, love the effects from the sandbox. Take a bunch of notes. #5173651

Thanks, Eloise. :) Good suggestion, too. Of course then I would have to write myself notes to remember to look at the notes I wrote..... #5173664

Wow, this turned out great, Ellen! Send that student over here, LOL! #5176799

Wow, whatever "extra" you did with this is fantabulous! The white lines really add strength to the composition and balance with the black. Excellent! #5176941

A cute shot, Ellen. For some extra fun, try using the eraser tool to bring back the color of the balloon. #5177337

Nice work ! I saw the Moscow circus when I was little . They didn't pick me for anything . Maybe it's because we were sitting in the LAST row of the Civic Arena . I hate the circus :( #5177407

Thanks, Deb and Crystal! I'll tell Willy you are lusting after him- just kidding!

Steve, what a great idea! I'll try that.

Joan, so sorry to hear that you weren't picked! You deserved to be, I'm sure! Maybe you should thank your lucky stars, though: there was a "Science Magic" show at my school when I was probably 10 years old, and sitting on the floor in front of the seats with all the other kids. The "magician" asked for a volunteer and all of us stuck our hands up, screaming, "Me! Me! Pick me!" I got picked and walked onto the stage feeling so special. That is, until he opened the lid of a large box right next to me and pulled out a giant snake and proceeded to wrap it around my whole body about 3 times! It ended up face-to-face with me and stuck its tongue out at me. I about died 10 deaths. #5177431

Oh my goodness what a memory. Do you like snakes? #5179233

Ellen Powell December 07, 2007

Luckily I didn't and still don't have a fear of snakes. I have a friend who does- big time- if this had been her whe probably would have gone mad. Mad, I tell you!! #5179581
