Description

This is altered a bit in photoshop, and is one of my first attempts at the program. This shot will actually be a Christmas present for my Grandma and Grandpa that live right here on the lake. I got it printed in 8x10 and framed. I'm very happy with the way it looks in that format!

This is a stunning image, Molly.
For a first try you have done marvelously!
I too am a beginner in both photography and photoshop. It is such a powerful software that I wonder if I shall ever learn it well. I was going back through your gallery today. I especially like this one. That you chose to capture it in a portrait mode instead of a landscape mode made all the difference.

I'll bet your grandparents put this up in a place of honor on the wall at Christmas, Molly. It's another beautifully composed shot, with the silhouetted bird out on the "ledge" especially interesting.
The colors are lovely ~ if you haven't already learned, the saturation filter/effect in Photoshop (and other editing programs) can quickly become a girl's best friend for making images POP!

Thank you Nancy! And yes, Mary, they liked it alot. I'm not sure where they put it, though, because I haven't seen them since Christmas. I did actually use the sponge tool and the burn tool in photoshop to darken and saturate the colors. I just got a tutorial dvd, so Im hoping to get into that soon and learn alot more.
