Old Barn
Uploaded: November 06, 2007
I liked the chute on this barn -- I've never seen one like it and I'm not really sure what it's purpose was. I also tried to capture the rising moon off the corner of the roof, but the sky's a little light for it to show up well. Stay tuned tomorrow for another shot of the mysterious chute.

Great shot, Jeremy!!!!! This is what is called an grain auger! You drive your truck full of grain up to the bottom end of the auger, tip the box of the truck up so the grain flows out the back of the box into the lower end of the auger. The auger is kind of like an escalator, except it moves the grain, not people, into the "grain bin", better known as a "grainery". The farmer stores the harvest in the grainery until it is taken to market for sale. E-mail me you you don't understand what I'm TRYING to say...I am well know for ADDING to the confusion rather than straightning it out!!!! LOLDennis Flanagan November 06, 2007
When do they turn the grain to alcohol Kitty? I'm sure your folks had a still or two...I always wondered too Jeremy. :-) #5035955
